Paint Color Consult
Having a hard time deciding which colors would look best inside your home? From the sheen of your trim to the color of each wall in your home; i’ve got you covered.

Choosing
Choosing paint colors can be tricky. If you are picking out a color that will be the main color for the interior of your home you want to make sure it is what you want. I have a pre-consultation call with my clients discussing what their current color is and what they would like to see in stead and also ask if there are any pictures they’ve collected as an example of what they would like.

Colors
If my client has inspiration pictures, I will find the color options that most closely match their “dream” color and what would work in their space. If my client is open to different color options, I will take into consideration the non-changeable items they have in the room and provide my client with color options that would work in the space. I take into consideration other colors and decor they have, and bring everything together. into a cohesive look. We eliminate colors we don’t like in the space, determining what my client likes best.

Paint Type and Sheen

I recommend certain paint products and sheens based on the need. There is different paint and sheens used from the ceiling, to the walls, to the baseboards, to the cabinetry. If my client is having their ceiling painted, I usually recommend a paint that provides good coverage and a flat sheen. For the walls, my clients usually love a low sheen like flat or eg-shel and a durable paint if the wall is in a high-traffic area. The sheen, or how shiny a wall is, depends on how deep/dark the color is and if there are imperfections in the wall that we want to hide. For the trim paint, it's best to use a hard enamel paint, that is durable, and a satin sheen has been very popular with my clients or even a semi-gloss. There are so many great choices of paint to choose from at Sherwin-Williams from their buttery smooth wall paint, Cashmere, to their extremely durable, and smooth professional looking finish, of their Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel.
I usually will recommend Sherwin-Williams paint to my clients, as they have great quality paint and they have great paint choices to make your home look amazing. It also depends if my clients have preference. I never mind if my client likes to pick up paint from a big-box store or from a SW competitor; I just can’t attest to the quality. sheen, or hue. I worked for SW for several years as their paint color consultant and even though I am not compensated by the company, I am supported by my local store and love using their products on my own home and business.
Documented
When the appointment is over my clients feel at ease that they’ve made colors choices that they’ll love for years to come. I’ve heard from my clients that they selected colors that they wouldn’t have picked on their own, and that once everything had been painted, they wish they had done it sooner. All of the color choices, sheens, location and paint choice are documented and can be shared with the painter. I love helping my clients; bringing life into spaces, one color at a time.
